To raise and expand the practice of oral healthcare in under-served communities by providing clinical care, education, and by partnering with community and healthcare organizations to create positive health behaviors among the children and families we serve.

When you visit Kids Smiles, we aim to provide the dental care you need to get the beautiful, healthy smile you desire. We are here to give you a wonderful, functional and dependable smile, and we are excited to help you on the journey. Each patient is different, which means each smile requires different methods and treatment. We want to teach, educate, and create beautiful long-lasting smiles. Kids Smiles offers language access service, free of charge, available to you.

THE KIDS SMILES HISTORY

1997

The award winning Kids Smiles mission is born:

Dr. Joseph R. Greenberg, Founder, shifts his vision into reality of bringing dental care and health empowerment programs to under-served children.

2001

Cheryl Janssen is named Inaugural Executive Director

He was tasked with opening the first dental center. She also develops and implements the outreach program.

Kids Smiles flagship dental center opens in Southwest Philadelphia with 5 employees and no patients.

2005

New Milestone

Kids Smiles’ dental center reaches 17,000 patients and a second location is opened in West Philadelphia to meet the growing need.

2007

Kids Smiles Education & Outreach program is launched

The formal Kids Smiles Education & Outreach program is launched with a full curriculum to serve both children and parents in dental center waiting rooms and in the community.

2013

Kids Smiles fundraising event is launched

Kids Smiles launches its signature fundraising event the “Open Wide” Golf Classic and Cocktail Party.

2017

Kids Smiles reached another milestone

Kids Smiles reaches 73,000 children since opening and kicks off the Sweet Sixteen Capacity Building Campaign to raise funds to expand programs and services to more children and families.

2019

Kids Smiles launches Inclusive Dental in West Philadelphia.

Kids Smiles launches Inclusive Dental, addressing the needs of special needs patients in the region, as well expanding our reach through a partnership with PCOM in the “Promise Zone” in West Philadelphia.
