SMS Communications Program

Kids Smiles offers text messaging (SMS) as a convenient way to communicate with patients and families about appointments and practice updates. This page explains how our program works and your rights as a subscriber.

Program description

By opting in, you may receive text messages from Kids Smiles regarding:

  • Appointment reminders and confirmations
  • Rescheduling or cancellation notices
  • Forms or paperwork needed prior to a visit
  • General practice announcements (e.g., office closures, hours changes)

Consent

Consent to receive SMS messages is collected when you provide your mobile number and affirmatively opt in — for example, by checking a consent box on an intake form, appointment request form, or by texting a keyword to our number. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving dental care or any other service. You may still schedule and receive appointments and treatment even if you do not opt in to SMS communications.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies depending on your appointment activity and communication preferences. You can generally expect to receive between 0 and 5 messages per month, though this may be more frequent around scheduled visits.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. Charges depend on your mobile carrier and phone plan. Kids Smiles is not responsible for any fees charged by your wireless carrier.

How to opt out

You can opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you send STOP, we will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will not receive further text messages from this program. You may also contact our office directly at (215) 492-9291 or info@kidssmiles.org to be removed from text communications.

If you opt out of SMS messages, you will still receive appointment information through other means and your ability to receive dental care is not affected.

How to get help

For help at any time, reply HELP to any message, or contact us directly at (215) 492-9291 or info@kidssmiles.org. Our staff will respond during regular business hours.

Supported carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Participating carriers include major U.S. wireless carriers; coverage may vary.

Privacy

We do not share your mobile number or SMS opt-in information with third parties for marketing purposes. For more information about how we handle your personal information, please review our Privacy Policy.
